WRlfTool is a Windows-interface program that allows you to create and maintain a redundant license file.
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the location of the wrlftool.exe file, and double-click the file to start the program. (The exact location of this file depends on your application vendor.)
NOTE The changes you make to the redundant license file will not take effect until you copy the changed file to a redundant License Manager in the pool (or edit it directly on the License Manager) and then restart that License Manager.
NOTE From Sentinel RMS v9.5 onwards, license hard limit up to 4,294,967,294 (infinite value) is supported. This is applicable for license version 20 and above. Further, this high value is applicable only when hard limit is used as a quantity. For versions prior to 9.5, the infinite value is 2,097,150.
1.To create a new
redundant license file, go to the File
menu and select New.
To edit an existing redundant license file, go to the File
menu and select Open and then
select the desired file.
2.To add a new
License Manager to the pool, click Add
Server. You are then asked to type the host name and the IP address
of the computer on which that License Manager resides. All the
License Managers in the pool must use the IP address to communicate.
NOTE Starting version 9.1.0, you can use both static and dynamic IP addresses to add a License Manager to the Redundant License Manager pool. This option supports both Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) or 6 (IPv6) based dynamic IP addresses. To use a dynamic IP with this option:
- Enter Dyn_IPv4 as the IP address to use Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) based IP
addresses.
- Enter Dyn_IPv6 as the IP address to use Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) based IP
addresses.
3.Once you have added more than one License Manager to the pool, you can select one of the License Managers and click Move Up or Move Down to adjust its order in the pool. This sets it preference order. If the License Manager having first preference goes down, the License Manager with second preference will be elected as the leader, and so on.
4.At any time you can select a License Manager and click Delete Server to delete it from the pool.
1.To add a redundant
license to the pool, click Add License.
You can access a screen that allows you to either add the license code
or specify a file containing the license code.
2.Once you have added the license code, you see the View License screen. It displays information about this license such as the feature/version licensed, how many License Managers it is set up to use, and so on.
NOTE The WRlfTool utility by default distributes the license tokens for a redundant license among the redundant License Managers in the pool for high assurance. The license distribution will show all the tokens in the name of the leader.
